I heard a lot about Dawes after their last album, North Hills, dropped but for one reason or another, I never picked it up. I finally started paying attention after working my way through the Middle Brother album that includes Dawes' Taylor Goldsmith. "If I Wanted Someone" is the first track released from upcoming album Nothing is Wrong and it's got Crazy Horse written all over it.

"Keystone State Of Mind" serves as my introduction to Tayyib Ali, thanks to This Bonus Track. I've been sitting on it, for whatever stupid reason, but here it is for you now. Tayyib's a young rapper whose name has been floating around the blogosphere lately, apparently for good reason. This track has great old school production and Ali's lyricism and flow are already a head above most of the older rappers in the game.

I feel like Nyle's new mixtape, Trailer, isn't getting nearly enough love. I've had it on repeat for a few days and he's definitely a talent to be reckoned with. "Hey Pop" is one of the more heartfelt tracks on the album. It's an ode to his father and an apology for not being closer.
