Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself

What's up, Internet? I'm Steve.

I have been asked to join Those Who Dig as a regular contributor and I couldn't be more excited. I've been friends with Kyle and Dave for awhile and music has always been a big part of that bond. I hope to add to the great work they've already done as this blog continues to grow. It's going to be fun.

I thought I'd start off by sharing a few music-related facts about me: The first CD I ever got was Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt and the most recent was Forgiveness Rock Record by Broken Social Scene. My first concert was Matchbox 20 and the artist I've seen the most times since is Ted Leo (with the Pharmacists and solo). I played guitar in a band with friends in high school and I was a radio DJ in college. I just pressed shuffle songs on my Ipod and the song that played was "The City" by Dismemberment Plan.

I dig music with strong imagery and emotional resonance. I dig songs that build, that end somewhere different than they started. I dig musicians that bring passion and energy to their recordings and live performances.
