Tomorrow night (January 25th), Cass McCombs will be playing a show at the Bowery Ballroom. He is touring behind his two 2011 releases, Wit's End and Humor Risk. It should be a really good show.
Cass McCombs – The Same Thing
Not a lot of people can release two albums in one year, let alone two good ones, so that should tell you Cass is a very talented musician and songwriter. I find his lyrics engrossing and powerful; they demand your attention. The instrumentation provides the perfect complement to these stories and observations, and all told, a listener can't help but intuitively know the songs have been made with a care, craft, and honesty that seems rare these days. I am looking forward to an evening with Cass.
If you're interested, the show takes place at the Bowery Ballroom at 6 Delancy Street. Doors at 8:00 PM, show at 9:00 PM. Cost is $15.00 and it's for an audience of 18+. The opening act will be fiddle, guitar, and banjo player Frank Fairfield. Full details and tickets here. Look for a brief review here on Those Who Dig afterwards and feel free to buy Cass' music here at Domino Records.
