Jonny Corndawg in NYC

Friend of the Dig Jonny Corndawg (have you heard Dave's interview with the man? Click here if not and here for the rest of our Jonny links) kicks off his August tour tomorrow in NYC, and we couldn't be more excited.

The first show is tomorrow (August 1st) at the Mercury Lounge (6 Delancy Street in Manhattan) and set time is 11:00 PM, with openers Alana Amram & the Rough Gems. Tickets cost $10 and are available here.

As if the show isn't cool enough, there is a Corndawg-themed after party going down right after at midnight, at Local 138 (138 Ludlow between Stanton & Rivington). It will feature the following drink specials:

  • $4 – The Drunken Fiddler "jack and coke"
  • $3 – Corndawg Calimocho's "red wine and coke"
  • $3 – Black Drummer "peach schopps, rum, cranberry and pineapple – on the rocks"
  • $4 – The Cheap Date (for 2) "a Budweiser split two ways and two well shots"

THEN, on Friday August 3rd, Jonny plays again, this time coming over to the great borough of Brooklyn for a performance at Union Pool (484 Union Ave). He'll be playing with the Extraordinaires. The show is $10 and tickets are available here. This will mark an exciting reunion of Team Dig, featuring not only myself and in-from-Baltimore Dave, but also original digster Kyle. Awesome, right?

For all you non-New Yorkers looking for a chance to see Jonny, check out his tour dates for the month here. They include a few nights with Dawes, Lucero, and Alabama Shakes.
