Great Shows This Week In NYC

There's always a lot going on in New York City, but this week seems to quite packed. Several friends of the Dig have exciting things going on, read on for all the details.

Tonight, our good buddy Jonny Fritz hosts a listening party for the release of his new album Dad Country at the Jalopy in Red Hook. Starts at 9:00. If you can't make it, stream it here.

Wednesday, you can see Cultfever at Piano's (on at 10) in a showcase put on by the good people at Knox Road and EXFM. $8 tickets here – the lineup also includes Black Light Dinner Party. You can also see a double dose of dig-approved bands at Brooklyn Bowl, where Town Hall and Holy Ghost Tent Revival will take the stage. It starts at 8:00 and costs $8 (tickets), so you bet your ass I'm going to throw out this line from my favorite film: Mark it eight, Dude.

Thursday, Mr. Fritz will play a show at Music Hall of Williamsburg, opening for The Devil Makes Three. Starts at 9:00 and advance tickets are $17.50, get 'em here. Also in Williamsburg, our friends Los Encantados are taking the stage with Black Onassis and On An On at The Knitting Factory. The show begins at 8:30 and you can get tickets for $12 here. The guys have been working on some new music and I'm betting they'll play some. You may not hear this one, but check out their latest share on Soundcloud, "December, 1963 (Le Edit)."

You might be exhausted from all the shows, but save some energy to see Grand Resort on Friday at Muchmore's. It's $5 and music will start around 9:00. Check out the bitchin' Room 237 inspired gig poster and more info on the full lineup here. Oh, and they play Saturday at Cake Shop, also for $5. It's for Record Store Day. Details here.
