Evan Dando: Stop My Head
Evan Dando, Ben Kweller, and Juliana Hatfield were a triumvirate of alternative and cool throughout my high school experience. I'm surprised to look back and see that Dando's solo album Baby I'm Bored didn't come out until 2003 since I remember playing it in the background of everything. This album sampled audio from George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead as well as featured a song with only one sentence of lyrics that was allegedly about the Civil War's Battle of Antietam – The Grass All Wine Colored. I liked this album more than most.
Regardless, Stop My Head was the radio single and the seldom seen accompanying video offered an animated interpretation ripe with cross dressing wolves, dance sequences, and apples. Weird right? It felt really good to revisit this old favorite and I wanted to share it with you on the Throwback.
