Erie Show – The Farewell Drifters

Hey Erie readers! There's an exciting show taking place tomorrow night at the Crooked I, headlined by The Farewell Drifters. The band is based out of Nashville but features Erie native Christian Sedelmyer. Check it out!

I've known Christian for a long time. He plays the violin in the band and he is incredibly talented. The Farewell Drifters describe their sound as "harmonic roots music that draws influence from the traditions of folk, bluegrass, film scores, 60s revolutionary pop, and their young Nashville peers." Sounds alright to me. Scratch that, make that more than alright! This mixture ensures that while there are many familiar touchstones in their sound, the band consistently finds ways to put their own unique stamp on every song they write and perform.

They will be releasing their 3rd album Echo Boom in June – you can expect coverage here at the Dig in the future on that – but to get you in the mood for the show and give you a taste of this band's talent, check out the single "Punchline," here. For more information on the band, check out their website.

Based on what I know and what I've heard, I have no doubt this band will put on an amazing show.

Show starts at 10:00. Crooked I is at 1013 State Street. Cover is $3. Opening bands: East Clintwood, Tommy Link
