David Bronson and Mama Coco's Showcase

Some great shows to check out this week include David Bronson tonight (12/19) at Spike Hill and the two night extravaganza of the Mama Coco's collective at Muchmore's Thursday and Friday (12/20 & 12/21). Both are free!

David Bronson has been a regular on the Dig lately, it seems. First, he had the really cool video for "Times" in Weekly Roundup, and then I had to spend a little time writing about his awesome video for "The Turns." Both are really neat visually and great songs. His album Story is a worthy listen, and I bet he puts on a good live show. Check him out tonight at Spike Hill in Williamsburg at 184 Bedford Avenue. The show is free! More info here.

Mama Coco's is a recording studio that has given rise to or worked with a bunch of great local bands, includes some of my favorites who are no strangers to the Dig: David Pollack, Oh! My Blackbird, and The Great American Novel. They are among the eight bands taking the stage Thursday night at Muchmore's, the sweet DIY venue that hosted our first TWD showcase. It's located at 2 Havemeyer in Williamsburg. The night kicks off at 8:00 with David Pollack and will go to the stroke of midnight with Oh! My Blackbird and beyond with The Great American Novel (12:40). You can get the full lineup here and also follow the link to yet another stacked night on Friday. Both of these Mama Coco's bashes will be free! Also, David has released his latest single "What Do I Do?". Check out his new website here.

With all of this being free, you have no excuse not to go see such good music live. And definitely check out the artists' pages to support them on their social networks or better yet, buy some of their music and merch. 'Tis the season, right?
