Just before embarking on an extensive European tour this May, TWD favorite Dark Dark Dark is set to release a new EP April 23 entitled What I Needed. In anticipation of this they have released a three song teaser with the superb title track What I Needed front and center.

The title track What I Needed is a soon to be classic example of the Minneapolis quintet's romantic throwback style branded against a uniquely 21st century macro-stylistic image. For my taste, the success of the song is built upon Nona Marie's seductive and crooning vocal melodies which are held in strict relief to the counterpart of the band's sweeping 1960's sensibilities. Following the success of Who Needs Who, Dark Dark Dark seems to be further entrenching themselves in pop sentimentality with this EP and I am excited to hear to full extent of their work later this month.
