Holy Ghost Tent Revival brought their brand of energetic, heartfelt, quirky Americana to Erie last week for an amazing show. Two of the fellas, Patrick "PJ" Leslie (bass) and Hank Widmer (trombone and euphonium) were nice enough to pile into their tour van with us afterwards and have a little chat. How does one man get to be so damn cool? This video proves that Jamie Lidell is a god amongst men and is so tangibly passionate about his craft. It comes to us from the Black Cab Sessions, which features artists doing one take in the back of a cab. Pretty sweet concept that really cuts to the chase about what's so endearing and great about music. They've nabbed a ton of great artists so check it out. In this one, Jamie uses a trick he utilizes live where he beatboxes and then loops the effects while he sings his blue-eyed soul over top. So fresh and so clean.

I saw this new video from UK folkster Benjamin Francis Leftwich over at Slowcoustic today and I had to share. It's a pretty touching song with hints of Elliott Smith and Nick Drake and vocals that float on thin air.
