The Builders and The Butchers – Rotten to the Core

I'll be going under the knife tomorrow for some minor surgery on my foot. Which means I'll have seriously increased blogging time for the next few days, even though it will probably be in a drug/painkiller induced stupor. Everybody wins. Here's a foot-stomping jam from The Builders and The Butchers to pull me out of my anesthesia haze.

XV – Awesome (Ft. Pusha T)

XV – Awesome (Ft. Pusha T)

Every day that an XV song leaks is a great fucking day. The latest is a remix of "Awesome" and it has fire-spitter and MC of the moment Pusha T laying down a verse. It's got the typical Vizzy positivity and bounce and, like usual, great rhymes and clutch pop (read: nerd) culture references. Super Saiyans and references to grammar always get me. I've said before that I'm a sucker for piano-led hip hop production. Maybe XV heard me (or read my tweets) and made this one for me. A boy can dream, right?

Bonus video after the jump!

Aloe Blacc – Loving You Is Killing Me

Oh man. Aloe Blacc debuted his video for "Loving You Is Killing Me" today and it's everything I could want from an Aloe Blacc video and more. It's minimalistic, showcases his killer dance moves, and has him in a dance-off with a child who apparently has extra joints all over his body. How can you not love this guy? He's brimming with soul and charisma. Plus he's so damn stylish. The only downside here is that the video is set to an alternate version of the song that's not as good as the album cut. No matter.

Ben Folds

I'll always love Ben Folds. It's true, the man will always hold a place in my heart. Something about his vocals and piano lines just fuckin' gets me. It's pure nostalgia through and through, I know this. It's also a continuation of my recent pinings for the straightforward pop rock of my childhood.

It's about time for his Shrine induction and a video from my wee high school years.
